The 40-year-old soccer stud is the second-highest-earning retired athlete, per Forbes, raking in $45 million last year after hanging up his cleats in 2013.

Beckham’s combined endorsement deals easily trump his $3.4 million salary from the final year of his LA Galaxy contract.
Beckham, a former star for Manchester United, scores $3.5 million per year from the Chinese real estate firm, Luneng, as well as $5.5 million from the sports label Kent & Curwen, in addition to the royalties stemming from his designer fashion collection. The father of four also boasts lucrative deals with Adidas, H&M and Breitling watches.
Michael Jordan tops the Forbes list after netting $69 million in 2015. Beckham eventually could join Jordan in the ownership ranks, as well: He’s working to secure an MLS franchise in Miami for 2018.
